What if I told you that cellulite is not fat? And what if I told you that by losing fat, you are not losing cellulite? You might think I am crazy, but it is true!
Cellulite is not fat, as most people think. It is chronic inflammation and degenerative disease of connective tissue, primarily connective and elastic fibers, where female hormone estrogen and genetic factors play the most prominent part.
Between 80 and 90 % of women experience cellulite at some point in their lives. Cellulite can affect both men and women, but it is more common in females because our connective tissue is weaker. It is stored in connective and adipose tissue, which is full of fat cells, water, and toxins. All together, they are forming, so-called pockets that are most visible on our thighs, hips, and buttocks.
So, how do we fight it?
The first step is to accept that we all have cellulite and that besides us, nobody cares that we have it. However, if the orange peel look on our skin bothers us, there are ways we can reduce the appearance of it (and if we are persistent, even completely remove its appearance).
The process which worked on me and my clients is a combination of exercises, balanced diet and wood therapy, anti-cellulite treatment.
When it comes to exercise, contrary to a widespread belief, practicing hours of cardio every day does not eliminate cellulite. Cardio exercise reduces fat. You want to choose activities that incite muscle gain and stimulate blood flow. For more advice on this topic, check out posts in the Fitness category. Or go to the course section of the blog where you can find a FREE course with anti-cellulite exercises, fitness, and dietadvice.
Maderotherapy (wood therapy) massage treatment is cellulite reduction treatment. With the use of different wooden utensils we are improving circulation, and by doing that, feeding connective tissue with needed nutrients and oxygen.
In the second stage of the treatment, we are breaking down fat pockets, that stubborn adipose fat tissue that no matter what we do, somehow feels like we can’t get rid of. By breaking those chunks of fat into smaller pieces, we are making it easier for our body to access those fat cells, and use up as energy source. And that is how we reduce the appearance of the cellulite.
After only a few treatments, you will notice the difference. You should do 5-10 treatments in 10 days and then do it once or twice every week.
So, go find your local beauty therapist and book your first massage! Or, check out Roseline Academy’s self-massage course and just do it yourself!
It’s really never been easier to get rid of the cellulite!
