How many times did you hear the famous one: ”Don’t let stress take over your life!” or “Love your self!“ or, "That law of attraction will bring you anything you want in your life". All those are valuable advises, and there is lot of truth in them, but nobody teach you how to do it!? What are those techniques or exercises, to achieve such as positive, stress free, state of mind? There are not many people out there to share that with you.
On other hand, we all leave such a fast lifestyle, every next day feels faster then the previus, and more demanding, so if we don’t learn how to help our self – who will? If we don’t have time for it now – when we gonna have? At the top of it all, there is one more reason, our kids!
They are like little sponges coping ever-single thing we do. I said what we DO, not what we SAY. Therefore if we are telling them what are our expectations, or we are bringing rules into theirs life’s, it won’t be successful- till the moment we start to behave the way we preach.
YOU are their behavior role model, they don’t have another one! Same as they are adopting your behavior model toward reading, sports, friends and relationships, they will adopt your problem solving approach as well.
We are all different individuals, different personalities, and don’t forget there is big social impact as well, but at the end of the day, child’s dominant behavior, ones they grown up, will be the one they learned from you, the one they took from home. Social and media influence will be there, but weak and temporarily, because you are the one forming that behavior base for the child, to get back too over and over.
Finding the right way to control and deal with the stress, will be first active step for you to deal with it, making your every day easy, fun, and enjoyable. Is there anything else more motivating for you?!
Well, lets start!
- Love you child, and show them your love, even when you see them as main reason of your tiredness. Your tiredness or irritation will go away but, by doing this gesture, you child will know that is loved not matter what.
- If you share your worries with your loved one, helps
- Good night sleep
- Healthy food
- Be active
- Write diary, not only that is great way to clarify what are the problems, but in the same time is great therapy. Write down good things as well, all compliments, wish list … and when you feel blue, go back to it.
- Make your life easy, avoid all the things that upset you. (For example start off your day earlier then normal, to avoid rush, traffic, … and stress being late for work.
As said before, we are all different, and we prefer different things, some of those things are amazing mental or energy exercise, but regardless you believe in them or not, they are helpful. Here are some of them that you could use:
- Thank you list! Write down everything you are thankful for, everything that is important in your life in this moment. (your best friend, name of your child, pet..) or make the list with all positive words about your self, ( at least 50 words)
- Power of the positive speech! Talk FOR not AGAINST
FOR healthy lifestyle, FOR bigger salary, instead of talking against unhealthy life style, or against low leaving standards.
Your brain can’t process negative thinking. By using positive statements and presents tense, not only will make you feel optimistic but better in every way.
- Controlling your mind! If you are not controlling your mind, your mind will control you. When you notice that your inner voice is being negative, just say to your self - That's enough! Your inner voice will stop, if in that moment, you start counting buttons on your shirt, trees in front of you, … anything you can see in front of you.
-Breathing! Every time someone is stressed first thing we will say to them is breathe! I suggest you do the same, try 4-6-7 exercise, there is demonstration on it, check out my blog page.
Simply breath in for 4, holds for 6, and exhale for 7. Your mind can’t multitask, so if you are counting, you will distract your negative mind.
- Mindfulness – I did talk about this subject a lot, … so if you would like to read more on it, go back to my blog page. By meditating you will look at the stress from different perspective. You will become grateful, and you will learn to enjoy the moment.
If you can’t handle the stress on your own, look for professional help, they will have more knowledge and experience then you. Be responsible adult and admit if you can’t handle it on your own. If you want to be happy, in the good mood and full of energy, that depends mainly on you, not the world around you!
For the reason above mental and energy exercise will be helpful as part of your mental hygiene, or food for soul. Ones you start practicing them, you will find new joy. They don’t take much time, they are free, and at home you will be perfect example and role model, for you child.
That is the most you can do for your wellbeing, in same time teaching your child what to do tomorrow.
